Bourbon Street Experience

In late 2005, after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, the businesses on Bourbon Street and the French Quarter in
New Orleans were struggling to stay in business. Many of the local residents were forced out of their homes and
out of the New Orleans area. In addition, tourism was virtually non-existent since most people around the world
were not aware that many businesses were back open just a week after the hurricane hit.
Outshine Marketing was approached by a group of business owners searching for a solution. After a few discussions,
The Bourbon Street Experience was born. Bourbon Street Experience is a campaign designed to target people outside
of the New Orleans area. The campaign was built to inform people that the party in New Orleans was alive and well.
The Bourbon Street Experience targeted major cities in the US, as well as the UK, France, and Germany. The
marketing campaign included newspaper ads, television ads, radio ads, and billboards. Presently the Bourbon Street
Experience campaign continues as it enters it’s 2nd successful year. The businesses involved with the Bourbon Street
Experience continue to grow their revenues and hope to soon be back at the levels they were at before Katrina.
